Public lecture "European citizens’ initiative"
As part of the planned activities within the project "European perspectives: French and Croatian partnership for promoting European Integration" IMO together with the French Embassy in Croatia and other partners organized a public lecture "The European Citizens' Initiative". The lecture was held by Mr. Cédric Bloquet, General Director of the association CIDEM (Civisme et démocratie) and expert at the French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, European Commission and member of the European Civic Forum. Lecture addressed topics of active and responsible citizenship, civic engagement and democracy in the European context. The lecture was held on Thursday, 9 June at 14. 30 at the premises of the EU Info Centre of the Delegation of the European Union in Croatia, Trg žrtava fašizma 6, Zagreb. Working languages of the event were French and Croatian with consecutive translation provided throughout its duration.

Public lecture ‘Foreign Policy of the European Union’
As part of the activities planned within project “European perspectives: French and Croatian partnership for promoting European Integration” IMO together with the French Embassy in Croatia and other partners organized a public lecture “Foreign Policy of the European Union”. The lecture was held by Mr. Maxime Lefebvre, a Diplomat and the Director of International Relations at ENA (Ecole Nationale d’Administration) and it addressed the issue of the EU foreign policy, its major perspectives and future challenges. The lecture was held on Monday, 31 January 2011, at 14.00 at the premises of the EU Info Centre of the Delegation of the European Commission in Croatia, Trg žrtava fašizma 6, Zagreb. Working languages of the event were French and Croatian with consecutive translation provided throughout its duration.

The book From the Lisbon Strategy to Europe 2020 has been issued with the support of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Croatia. It represents joint contribution of a group of Croatian and foreign scholars. The Croatian authors are coming from the IMO, the Faculty of Law at the University of Zagreb and the Institute of Economics in Zagreb while foreign contributors are represented by scholars from the University of Ljubljana and the Corvinus University in Budapest.
The book assesses achievements of the Lisbon Strategy as the EU's major development agenda in the last decade that will be replaced with the Europe 2020 Strategy in 2011 as the new paradigm of “smart, sustainable and inclusive growth”. It is divided in two parts.

Institute for International Relations held the international round table and the subsequent book promotion that took place at the EU Info Centre of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Croatia on Thursday, the 9th of December. The event was organized jointly by the Institute for International Relations – IMO and the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Croatia and started with the round table whose purpose was to present main conclusions of the research analysis published in the book “From the Lisbon Strategy to Europe 2020”. The round table reviewed implementation and the achievements of the Lisbon Strategy and discussed perspectives of the Europe 2020 Strategy as its successor. The round table was followed by the book promotion “From the Lisbon Strategy to Europe 2020”.
