Cultural and Knowledge Industries
The project focusing on the research of creative and knowledge industries and of their social impact on societies in transition was a new challenge for the researchers of the Department. It was guided by a holistic approach that allowed it to interconnect education, scientific research, technological development and cultural creativity.
Creative industries are complex, intersectoral and rapidly growing industries of a high financial value, based on invention and innovation. The knowledge of their functioning and their social impacts in transitional countries, however, is limited. The study therefore aimed at mapping them down and assessing their role in the development of new societies and knowledge economies in transitional countries.
