Visit of colleagues from GMF to IMO (14 March 2011)
On 14th of March 2011 colleagues from GMF's (GMF Fellows 2011) visited IMO and have held a two-hour discussions on current issues in the field of Croatian accession to the European Union, the Croatian role in the NATO alliance and its contribution to peace operations, but also the general security situation in Southeast Europe.
In the introductory part Dr. Daniela Angelina Jelincic presented the structure and activities of IMO, informing colleagues from the USA about projects that are currently being conducted, as well plans in the forthcoming period.
In the interactive debate, Dr. Sandro Knezovic presented a general political/security landscape of the region, while the Dr. Visnja Samardzija presented dominant trends and challenges in the final stage of Croatian integration into the European Union.
Dr. Mladen Stanicic has presented the current economic situation in the Republic of Croatia, potentials and possible shortcomings that will dominate the economic reality in the country in the forthcoming period.
Krsevan Antun Dujmovic briefly presented the work of the EU i-Documentation Centre.
It was concluded that this type of encounter can significantly contribute to furthering the understandings of partners in the transatlantic space.
