Partnership for Peace (PfP) Consortium of Defense Academies and Security Studies Institutes
The Department is member of the Partnership for Peace (PfP) Consortium of Defense Academies and Security Studies Institutes, an international organization dedicated to strengthening defense and military education and research through enhanced institutional and national cooperation. Currently, the Consortium consists of more than 350 organizations based in 42 of the countries comprising the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council (EAPC) region.
The Department is especially active in the Regional Stability in South East Europe study group, of which Mladen Staničić is co-convenor, and the Euro-Atlantic Security study group.
The vision of the Regional Stability in South East Europe study group includes:
- The assessment of the situation in the South East Europe through enhanced international co-operation, especially with institutions located in or close to the region of interest.
- Strategic research on an academic level supplementary to and stimulating the practical work done in the region.
- Giving support to the improvement of networks in the field of security policy and helping to create a peaceful, strategic and stable community in the South East European Region compatible to the broader Partnership for Peace.
