Project Description
The purpose of the project was to analyze the cost and benefit of the processes Croatian accession to the NATO alliance. Furthermore, it was to assess viability desirability and usefulness Croatia´s accession to NATO, bringing the society and government closer to the subject. The pertinence of this project was not only important for Croatia, but to the NATO itself.

Main project activities and results

  • Comparison of costs and benefits between collective and individual defence (what is more expensive, what is cheaper, what is safer);
  • Elaboration of the quality methodology in the processes and dealing with the aspect that can not be qualitatively measured;
  • Quantity aspects and the cost price of the professional vs. conscript army;
  • Estimation of costs and benefits of the obligation (when Croatia becomes the full fledged member of NATO) of modernizing the defence, military, and security systems;
  • Analysis of a wider economic aspect, i.e. economic development of a state;
  • The influence of the participation in the collective defense system and the affect on the position to the Croatian market and Croatian firms (will Croatia be more attractive for the investors then?);
  • The influence of Croatia onto the international security and defense systems (how can Croatia contribute to the global security and defense?).
