Department for International Economic and Political Relations
The Department for International Economic and Political Relations is engaged in research in international economics and public policy, and the influence of global economic dynamics on the development and position of Croatia.
Primary research areas include:
- the regional dimension of the Croatian economic and political position in the international community;
- Croatian strategic policy and its relationship with international organizations such as the EU, NATO, the OSCE, the UN and the World Bank;
- security studies and analyses dealing with the resilience of societies at risk from unconventional threats, especially terrorism;
- the new security and stability structure in South-Eastern Europe and the position of Croatia;
- privatization and post-privatization aspects of the Croatian economic reconstruction through comparative analysis of the countries in transition;
- regional and local development and development of small and medium-sized enterprises in Croatia;
- design and development of the financial system in the transitional situation, etc.
Regional Cooperation
Regionally, the Department conducts research projects for the Croatian Ministry of Science, the Croatian government, regional chambers of commerce, etc. In a number the projects the Department has closely cooperated with a variety of regional and international institutions.
